About Our Founder & CEO

Vickie developed Community ConneXor to improve accessibility and holistic community care for older adults, but she quickly realized that it was not just the frail but all vulnerable individuals regardless of age or disability.  

Her 30  years of experience includes the post acute and long term services and support sectors of the healthcare industry with a focus on older adults and other vulnerable populations, including Director of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Subacute Care, Tennessee Vice President, INSPIRIS, Executive Director, Leading Age Tennessee and Director, Behavioral Health Practice, Meharry Medical College.  She was also Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer for five years in her first technology-enabled business, a post ACA startup focused on nursing facility quality improvement to provide turnkey post-acute quality improvement networks to hospital systems.  Her most noteworthy accomplishments since obtaining an Executive MBA from the Vanderbilt University Owen School of Management are:

  • Developed three bundled payment model-two applications approved by CMS for implementation by a regional multi-site post-acute and long term services and support organization.
  • Successfully formed and led a team of professionals to assist a county nursing home  in responding to a CMS directed plan of correction in less than three weeks to stop the non-compliance fines of $2,500 per day that had reached $1 million.
  • Featured in print, podcasts, blogs and as a keynote speaker and panelist on predictions and strategies related to the future landscape for post-acute care under emerging value-based payment models by national companies such as HealthStream and WellSky.
  • Led the resurgence of two non-profit organizations to financial stability and sustainability.
 

Vickie is active in the middle Tennessee non-profit community serving as a volunteer board member for local and regional organizations including Asbury Tennessee, Community Life Bridge and Council on Aging of Middle Tennessee.  The Council on Aging of Middle Tennessee awarded her the 2020 Elizabeth Jacobs Service Award. Hardwired toward excellence and systems thinking that continuously challenges the status quo to seek improvement her personal mission statement is “To create new innovative sustainable opportunities for improving the quality of living of older adults.
